Baseball Recap: Smethport's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

14 must be Smethport's lucky number: they beat Cameron County with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Hubbers beat the Raiders by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-7. The victory was familiar territory for the Hubbers, who have now won three contests in a row.

The team relied heavily on Colin Riekofsky, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Zach Hungiville was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Smethport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Smethport's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Cameron County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.
