Softball Recap: Crete-Monee Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Crete-Monee can now relate to. They lost 20-1 to the Providence Catholic Celtics on Friday. The Warriors were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Celtics' pitcher proved too tough.

Taleaana Ramirez was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played.

Crete-Monee's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-9. As for Providence Catholic, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 27-7.
