Recap: Eastern Greene Thunderbirds vs. Trinity Lutheran Cougars

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tecumseh, the Eastern Greene Thunderbirds were happy to have found some success on Friday. They managed a 50-45 victory over Trinity Lutheran. For Eastern Greene, this counts as revenge for the 69-49 loss Trinity Lutheran walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.

It was another big night for Keylee Hudson, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bianca Wyatt, who scored nine points along with three steals.

Madison Keith and Liza Froedge certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Keith dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, while Froedge scored 14 points along with four steals. Keith is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Brewer, who scored ten points.

Eastern Greene's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Trinity Lutheran, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Eastern Greene will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bloomington North at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Bloomington North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday. Trinity Lutheran is on the road again on Thursday and play against West Washington at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th. Hopefully West Washington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday.
