Basketball Recap: Thurgood Marshall Academy Takes a Loss

Thurgood Marshall Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Parkside Eagles 77-48. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-8 on January 14th.

Parkside was led to victory by Daiquan Smith and Colby Murphy. Smith posted 21 points, while Murphy scored 20 points. Smith's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Marcus Scott, who put up 11 points.

Thurgood Marshall Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Parkside, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thurgood Marshall Academy will take on KIPP College Prep at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Parkside, they will head out to square off against Sandy Spring Friends at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
