Football Game Preview: Marion County Warriors vs. South Greene Rebels + How To Watch

The Marion County Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the South Greene Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Marion County's defense has only allowed eight points per game this season, so South Greene's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Marion County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They breezed past Jackson County to the tune of 49-13. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Warriors' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 211th).

Marion County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zaiden Humphrey, who rushed for 93 yards and one score on only seven carries, and also threw for 42 yards and one touchdown. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 57 yards. Mason Mays was in the mix too, providing Marion County with two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Marion County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 328 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Neno Humphrey, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, South Greene was able to grind out a solid win over Polk County on Friday, taking the game 23-13.

Marion County pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.5 points over those games. As for South Greene, their record is now 8-3.
