Basketball Game Preview: Rittman Indians vs. Garrett Morgan Falcons

The Rittman Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Garrett Morgan Falcons at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rittman is looking for their season's first victory.

Rittman is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Norwayne on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Rittman took a blow against Norwayne, falling 53-8. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 763rd, while the Bobcats are ranked 121st).

Meanwhile, Garrett Morgan came up short against Open Door Christian on Monday and fell 36-25. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rittman will need focus on slowing down Fatuma Abdi, one of several Garrett Morgan players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 12 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Abdi is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Anylaih Moore, who earned six points along with nine rebounds and three steals.

Garrett Morgan now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Rittman, their loss dropped their record down to 0-21.

Rittman beat Garrett Morgan 56-45 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rittman since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
