Football Game Preview: Great Oak Wolfpack vs. Villa Park Spartans + Official Tickets

The Great Oak Wolfpack will head out on the road to face off against the Villa Park Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Great Oak knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Villa Park likes a good challenge.

Great Oak is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 38-15 margin over Cajon. The result was nothing new for the Wolfpack, who have now won seven games by 23 points or more so far this season.

Great Oak found their leader in sophomore Trent Lux, who threw for 170 yards and two TDs while completing 75% of his passes. Lux's passing game has become a key predictor of the Wolfpack's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Villa Park didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Westlake on Friday, but they still walked away with a 28-24 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Great Oak's record is now 8-3. As for Villa Park, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Great Oak took a serious blow against Villa Park in their previous meeting back in November of 2019, falling 39-8. Can the Wolfpack avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
