Basketball Recap: Pawhuska Takes a Loss

Pawhuska and Fairview squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Pawhuska had to settle for second. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to the Fairview Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 109th).

Pawhuska has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points over those games. Fairview is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Pawhuska nor Fairview have any future games scheduled.
