Softball Recap: Madison-Grant Comes Up Short

Madison-Grant and Eastbrook squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Madison-Grant had to settle for second. They lost 15-5 to the Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Argylls have suffered since April 15th.

Cayleigh Stitt and Patricia VanMatre did some serious damage despite the final result: Stitt went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run, while VanMatre went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Madison-Grant has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-10 record this season. As for Eastbrook, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-11.

Madison-Grant does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eastbrook, they will challenge Alexandria-Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 11.3 runs per game this season.
