Swartz Creek will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Holly, who they had gone 0-7 against in their seven prior meetings. The Dragons skirted past the Bronchos 7-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dragons.
Avery Nuffer was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Joslynn Lyons also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Swartz Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Linden came tearing into Monday's contest with 13 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hornets a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 15 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Addi Siegwald (2027), who went 2-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Sophia Helm (2025) was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Linden's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Swartz Creek, their record now sits at 5-7.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Swartz Creek hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .334. However, it's not like Linden struggles in that department as they've averaged .371. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
