Basketball Recap: Espanola Valley Skates Past Taos with Ease

Espanola Valley posted their biggest victory since December 6, 2024 on Thursday. They blew past the Taos Tigers 52-25. 52 seems to be a good number for the Sundevils as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

When it comes to explaining why Taos lost, don't look at Jasmine Mondragon. Despite the final result, she posted nine points.

Espanola Valley pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Taos, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Coincidentally, Espanola Valley and Taos will both be playing Pojoaque Valley the next time they take the court. Espanola Valley will head out to face Pojoaque Valley at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Taos will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
