Baseball Game Preview: Maxwell Panthers vs. Sutter Huskies

The Maxwell Panthers will challenge the Sutter Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a seven-game winning streak alive.

Maxwell can't be too worried about heading out to take on Sutter: they just beat Biggs at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Panthers came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 9-5 on Thursday. The game was the first time the Panthers have beaten the Wolverines on their field since March 24, 2022.

The team relied heavily on Vincent Orozco, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Barrett, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Sutter played against Natomas on Monday and won via forfeit.

Maxwell pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Sutter, their record now sits at 20-3.
