Basketball Game Preview: Roma Gladiators vs. Palmview Lobos

Roma hasn't had much luck against Palmview recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Roma Gladiators will face off against the Palmview Lobos at 1:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Roma took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 42-24 victory over Martin.

Meanwhile, Palmview waltzed into their matchup last Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They took down the Eagles 43-29. Given the Lobos' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Eagles are ranked 1029th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palmview has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Roma, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.

Roma was taken down by Palmview 53-24 when the teams last played back in February. Can Roma avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
