Preview: Alvord Bulldogs vs. Bowie Jackrabbits
The Alvord Bulldogs will be home for the holidays to greet the Bowie Jackrabbits at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Alvord unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Boyd by a score of 64-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, Bowie fought the good fight in their overtime game against Whitesboro on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 41-40 to the Bearcats.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tucker Jones, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Rayder Mann, who scored 15 points.
Alvord's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Bowie, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
