Volleyball Recap: Hoke County Takes a Loss

If Hoke County was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Alpha Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bucks lost 3-0 to the Village Christian Academy Knights on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-22, 25-13.

Savion Kinston paced Hoke County's offense, picking up three kills. Kinston got some help from Gabriel Cabezudo and his four assists. Finally, Kelton McArn kept Hoke County's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Hoke County now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Village Christian Academy, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 9-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hoke County will challenge Freedom Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Village Christian Academy, they will square off against Alpha Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights are facing the Timberwolves at the right time seeing as the Timberwolves are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
