Basketball Game Preview: Woodcrest Christian Royals vs. Linfield Christian Lions

Woodcrest Christian hasn't had much luck against Linfield Christian recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. Woodcrest Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61 points per game this season.

Last Wednesday, Woodcrest Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Redlands Adventist Academy, but they still walked away with a 71-67 win.

Woodcrest Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noah Milton, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards. Those 13 boards gave Milton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cleveland Stoudenmire, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 15 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Linfield Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 68-62 to Vista Murrieta. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while the Broncos are ranked 135th).

Linfield Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Woodcrest Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.

Woodcrest Christian was taken down by Linfield Christian 68-27 when the teams last played back in February. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Woodcrest Christian was down 35-12.
