Football Recap: Escalon Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Escalon lost against Oakdale back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cougars took a hard 27-13 fall against the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Mustangs are ranked 100th).

Defeat or not, Escalon got some senior leadership from Chase Cummings and Logan Huebner. Cummings picked up 83 receiving yards and two TDs, while Huebner threw for 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Escalon now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Oakdale, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Escalon didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 35-28 victory against Lodi on the 12th. As for Oakdale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 49-17 win against Vista del Lago on the 12th.
