Baseball Recap: Brainerd Comes Up Short

Brainerd lost against St. Michael-Albertville back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Warriors took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights.

Cooper Schenck was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double. Eli Tautges was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Brainerd has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8-1 record this season. As for St. Michael-Albertville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.

Coincidentally, Brainerd and St. Michael-Albertville will both be playing Moorhead the next time they take the field. The Knights will host the Spuds at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
