Wheaton-Warrenville South hasn't had much luck against Batavia recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Wheaton-Warrenville South comes in on four and Batavia on three.
If Batavia heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Wheaton-Warrenville South took over last week. Everything went the Tigers' way against Lake Park on Friday as they made off with a 35-14 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 21 points or more this season.

His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 172 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Justin Miller, who threw for 89 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wheaton-Warrenville South was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 267 rushing yards. They are a perfect 5-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Batavia over St. Charles East in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. The Bulldogs strolled past the Fighting Saints with points to spare, taking the game 31-13. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Fighting Saints are ranked 128th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Batavia's win came from a few key players Wheaton-Warrenville South will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brett Berggren, who rushed for 79 yards and one score, and also picked up 53 receiving yards. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 80 yards. Michael Vander Luitgaren was another key player, throwing for 157 yards and a pair of TDs.
Wheaton-Warrenville South's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Batavia, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 6-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Wheaton-Warrenville South has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 216.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Batavia struggles in that department as they've been averaging 190.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Wheaton-Warrenville South might still be hurting after the 35-13 loss they got from Batavia in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Tigers, Nathan Whitwell (who rushed for 176 yards and four touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
