The Pine Lake Prep Pride are taking a road trip to challenge the Ashley Screaming Eagle at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pine Lake Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

Things were looking good for Pine Lake Prep after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Pinecrest by a score of 8-7. The Pride have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bo Macy put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three runs and two doubles.

Macy wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Graham Derma, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Sun Valley hit Ashley with a five-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Screaming Eagle came up short against the Spartans, falling 11-1.

Pine Lake Prep's record is now 11-5. As for Ashley, their record now sits at 2-15.

Ashley's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Pine Lake Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game.
