Softball Recap: Cascade Picks Up 12th Consecutive Victory

Cascade waltzed into their contest on Monday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They blew past the Newport Cubs 10-3. Ten seems to be a good number for the Cougars as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Maddy Tingle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on two hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cassidy Crabtree was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs and two triples. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Amyah Miranda also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cascade kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive games.

Cascade's record now sits at 14-5. As for Newport, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cascade will challenge rival North Marion at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Newport is set to take on their familiar foe Stayton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
