Baseball Recap: Blacksher Wins Going Away Against Escambia County

Blacksher was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Escambia County on Friday. The Blacksher Bulldogs were the clear victor by a 13-4 margin over the Escambia County Blue Devils. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Brody Watson was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Brady Blackburn was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Blacksher always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Escambia County only posted an OBP of .348.

The win got Blacksher back to even at 1-1.

We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. Escambia County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Flomaton at 5:00 p.m. on February 24th.
