Friday, 7:30 p.m. Eastern timeWhy it's big: Friday night's game is merely a semifinal-round match in the WPIAL Class 4A playoffs but it feels more like a championship game.
Woodland Hills (11-0) is the top seed in the bracket and has been ranked No. 1 in Western Pennsylvania all season by one Pittsburgh newspaper. Central Catholic (10-1) started out the year No. 1 in the city's other paper but ended up with only the No. 5 playoff seed because of a Week 3 loss to North Allegheny.
Names to watch: Woodland Hills has a dynamic one-two punch at running back with seniors
Miles Sanders and
Jo-el Shaw. Sanders, a Penn State recruit, and Shaw (Western Michigan) both ran for over 100 yards in a 40-20 win against Bethel Park last week.
Central Catholic avenged its loss to North Allegheny last week, thanks greatly to senior running back
Ronnie Jones. The Toledo commit ran for 144 yards and two touchdowns as the Vikings qualified for the WPIAL semifinals for the eighth time in the last 11 years.
