Basketball Game Preview: Pell City Panthers vs. Oxford Yellow Jackets

Pell City hasn't had much luck against Oxford recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pell City Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Oxford Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m.

Pell City is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 15th straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They were outmatched by Albertville and fell 77-41. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 288th, while the Aggies are ranked 36th).

Meanwhile, Oxford was able to grind out a solid win over Bob Jones on Saturday, taking the game 77-67. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellow Jackets.

Oxford's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Pell City, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

Pell City suffered a grim 57-37 defeat to Oxford in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. Can Pell City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
