Football Recap: Lake Norman Falls Short of Weddington in the Playoffs + How To Watch

Lake Norman and Weddington squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Lake Norman had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Warriors 42-7. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Warriors are ranked fourth).

Weddington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from KD Cotton, who rushed for 27 yards and a pair of TDs. The team also got some help courtesy of Walker Powell, who threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns while completing 90.9% of his passes.

Lake Norman's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4. As for Weddington, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Lake Norman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Weddington, they have already played their next game, a 21-6 victory against Independence on the 28th.
