Basketball Recap: Casey-Westfield Triumphs

Casey-Westfield won the last time they faced Cumberland and things went their way on Friday too. The Warriors snuck past the Pirates with a 44-39 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Jackson High had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. Those ten boards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Fred Thomas, who posted seven points.

Despite the loss, Cumberland still got an impressive performance from Reed Miller, who shot 50% from the field en route to 13 points. Zack Harmon was another key player, putting up four points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Casey-Westfield's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Cumberland, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Casey-Westfield will square off against North Clay/Clay City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cumberland, they will take on Altamont at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Pirates' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
