Basketball Recap: Coastal Homeschool's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

After a string of three wins, Coastal HomeSchool's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 52-45 to Frederica Academy. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hurricanes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-27 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Coastal HomeSchool still got an impressive performance from Tylor Mascu?ana, who posted six points. The dominant performance also gave Mascu?ana a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Alijah McField, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 15 points.

Coastal HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Frederica Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coastal HomeSchool won't have much time to rest: their next match is against The Habersham School at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in The Habersham School's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests. As for Frederica Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Westminster Schools of Augusta at 7:30 p.m.
