Merritt Island Christian came into Saturday's game looking for another win against Melbourne, but Brianna Matthews wouldn't allow it. The Melbourne Bulldogs took down the Merritt Island Christian Cougars 56-39 on Saturday thanks in part to Matthews, who posted 16 points along with eight boards and three steals. Matthews is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Jocelyn Paz was another key player, going 7 of 13 on her way to 16 points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Merritt Island Christian lost, don't look at Summer Snaith. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 61.5% of Merritt Island Christian's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keri Shea, who posted five points along with seven assists and six steals.
