Soccer Game Preview: Jerome vs. Wood River

The Jerome Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Wood River Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Jerome will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each match than the last.

Jerome is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Minico a 10-0 shutout on Monday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Jerome with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Wood River didn't have quite enough to beat Twin Falls on Monday and fell 3-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Wood River came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho soccer rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Twin Falls are ranked 26th).

Having lost for the first time this season, Wood River fell to 11-1-2. As for Jerome, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2-3.

Jerome suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Wood River in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
