Basketball Recap: Elkins Comes Up Short

Elkins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 70-55 bruising from the Fairmont Senior Polar Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-36 back in December of 2024.

Elkins' defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Fairmont Senior, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elkins will welcome Lewis County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fairmont Senior, they will square off against North Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
