Softball Game Preview: Chinle Wildcats vs. Gallup Bengals

The Chinle Wildcats will take on the Gallup Bengals at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Chinle has given up an average of 11.5 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Chinle came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 19-2 to St. Johns.

Meanwhile, Gallup entered their tilt with Kirtland Central on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 10-9 W against the Broncos. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bengals have posted since March 30, 2024.

Gallup let Madison Martinez and Mckenzie Notah run wild. Martinez scored three runs while going 2-for-4, while Notah went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most runs Martinez has posted since back in March. Leia Tso was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Chinle now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Gallup, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
