Basketball Recap: Marist Triumphs

Marist had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Benedictine Cadets by a score of 68-59 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the War Eagles.

Despite the loss, Benedictine still got an impressive performance from Caleb Jones, who went 11-for-15 to rack up 30 points and seven rebounds. The contest was Jones' 51st in a row with at least 15 points. CaRon Hall was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight boards.

Marist's win bumped their record up to 21-8. As for Benedictine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-6.

Looking ahead, Marist will square off against North Oconee on Saturday. North Oconee will roll in looking for their 25th straight victory, something Marist surely won't give up without a fight. Benedictine does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
