Baseball Recap: Trenton Comes Up Short

Trenton might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Sam Rayburn who claimed the real prize. The Trenton Tigers fell 5-1 to the Sam Rayburn Rebels. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2016.

Trenton suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 4-8. As for Sam Rayburn, they pushed their record up to 8-2-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trenton will venture away from home to face off against Tioga at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sam Rayburn, they are taking a road trip to challenge Dodd City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sam Rayburn's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Dodd City's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
