Recap: Godby Cougars vs. North Florida Christian Eagles
The Godby Cougars waltzed into Thursday's match with three straight wins but they left with four. They really took it to North Florida Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-24 victory at home. Considering Godby has won four matchups by more than 20 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Godby's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cristina Brown led the charge by scoring 9 points along with 13 rebounds and 7 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mar?nazha Houston, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Godby's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for North Florida Christian, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Godby will head out on the road to face off against St. John Paul II at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. John Paul II will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 428th, while Godby is ranked 150th). As for North Florida Christian, they will be playing at home against Munroe at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
