Basketball Recap: Canyon Ridge Triumphs

If Burley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Canyon Ridge, they should've done a better job of containing Mason Hill. The Canyon Ridge Riverhawks came out on top against the Burley Bobcats by a score of 70-58 on Friday thanks in part to Hill, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last 15 times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Christian Waitley, who posted nine points. Those nine points gave him a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Burley still got an impressive performance from Nash Gillette, who shot 4-for-6 from long range and dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. Jake Seely was another key player, putting up 13 points and six rebounds.

Canyon Ridge now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Burley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Canyon Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-54 loss against Mountain View on the 7th. As for Burley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-28 defeat against Preston on the 7th.
