Baseball Game Preview: Cordova Blue Devils vs. Sumiton Christian Eagles

The Cordova Blue Devils will face off against the Sumiton Christian Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Cordova easily dispatched Fultondale last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Cordova fell just short of Sumiton Christian by a score of 8-6 on Saturday. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

The win was the sixth in a row for Sumiton Christian, bringing their record up to 12-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Cordova, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
