Basketball Recap: Pigeon Forge Takes a Loss

Pigeon Forge fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Gatlinburg-Pittman on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 70-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders. The Tigers were up 40-26 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Maliyah Glasper continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Gatlinburg-Pittman, dropping a triple-double with 16 points, ten boards, and ten assists. Glasper also grabbed eight steals, which is notable because Gatlinburg-Pittman is undefeated when she posts at least five steals, but 10-11 otherwise. Tillie Trentham was another key player, putting up 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Pigeon Forge's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Gatlinburg-Pittman, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 18-11.

As of now, neither Pigeon Forge nor Gatlinburg-Pittman have any future games scheduled.
