Fans got a thrill when Kordelle Phillips and Parrish Martin connected against West Branch. The connection was good for 99 yards, the longest such play in Northeastern Buckeye this season.

Canton South scaled the state rankings by moving to 315 from 358 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of beating Minerva 20-19.

Demitri Lott was a key player and the best on defense this week as Alliance bested the Warriors. The 5-foot-4 junior recorded 1 fumble.

Phillips threw for 324 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 14-20 with 1 interception.

Phillips put up the best numbers through the air as the Aviators topped West Branch. Phillips' favorite target this week was Martin, who caught 3 passes for 113 yards.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Alliance's Phillips and Ryan Bevington have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-8 quarterback Phillips has thrown for 1,827 yards this season, while Bevington has 32 catches for 602 yards. Louisville's Connor Zwick leads the league in rushing yards with 615.

Mike Schott's team's Phillips is within 173 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against the Leopards.

The Aviators' offense has racked up 314 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Louisville has allowed only 100 on the year.

A big matchup in Northeastern Buckeye this week will be when Alliance takes on John Demarco's team. As it stands, the Aviators are in third, while the Leopards are in first.

The league will see a high scoring game when Alliance and Louisville face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Aviators comes in having scored 314 this season, while the Leopards have scored 213. Alliance scored 55 points last week as it bested the Warriors.

Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Louisville beat Marlington 41-20. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
