Oak Grove waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against D'Iberville as they made off with a 14-4 win. The result was nothing new for Oak Grove, who have now won three contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Christopher Poole looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Eric Booth Jr, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kendrell Roberts, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Oak Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as D'Iberville only posted an OBP of .333.
The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 6-2. As for D'Iberville, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5.
Looking ahead, Oak Grove will welcome Purvis at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Purvis knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Oak Grove likes a good challenge. As for D'Iberville, they are taking a road trip to face off against Pass Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
