Baseball Game Preview: Greenwich Country Day Tigers vs. Greens Farms Academy Dragons

For the second straight game, Greenwich Country Day will face off against Greens Farms Academy. The Tigers will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Dragons at 4:30 p.m.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Greenwich Country Day turned things around against Greens Farms Academy on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Dragons.

Landon Ristau spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bryce Hill was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Greenwich Country Day's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 0-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Zuniga, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Greenwich Country Day's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Greens Farms Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
