Softball Game Preview: Uniontown Red Raiders vs. Belle Vernon Leopards

The Uniontown Red Raiders will head out to challenge the Belle Vernon Leopards at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Uniontown lost 15-3 to Elizabeth Forward on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Red Raiders in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost nine in a row.

Lauren White made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Graci Rodeheaver, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Belle Vernon's offense. They fell just short of West Mifflin by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The Leopards have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Belle Vernon now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Uniontown, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Uniontown came out on top in a nail-biter against Belle Vernon in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 8-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Uniontown since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
