Basketball Recap: Douglas Takes a Loss

Douglas saw some tournament action on Monday. They fell to the Granite Bay Grizzlies 62-58. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tigers came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 34th in Nevada, while the Grizzlies are ranked 583rd in California).

Despite the loss, Douglas still got an impressive performance from Trent Ipsen, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 22 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Thacker, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 15 points.

Douglas has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Granite Bay, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-9.

Douglas will welcome Galena at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Granite Bay, they will venture away from home to square off against Oak Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
