Preview: Brandon Eagles vs. Sumner Stingrays
Brandon has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Sumner Stingrays at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Brandon suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Saturday. Their tough 63-38 loss to Strawberry Crest might stick with them for a while.
Brandon got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Tyler Cole and
Nigel Pinnock, who each put up no points.
Meanwhile, Sumner unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 70-69 to Robinson. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (64), Sumner still had to take the loss.
Sumner's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Isaiah Williams, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds, and Jacob Douglas who scored 15 points along with six assists and two steals. Douglas has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Devin Baker was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Brandon's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Sumner, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.
