Recap: Calhoun City Wildcats vs. North Side Gators
The Calhoun City Wildcats had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past North Side 36-6 on the road. Calhoun City's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Leading Calhoun City to victory were Jamajah Mayes and Xavian Pittman. Mayes rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns, while Pittman gained 172 total yards and three touchdowns. Mayes has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last eight times he's played.
Another reason for the win was Calhoun City's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Javonte Harvey was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three sacks himself.
Calhoun City's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for North Side, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
Calhoun City will take on Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Union is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. North Side does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
