Softball Recap: Oliver Springs Bobcats vs. Coalfield Yellow Jackets
Oliver Springs's last matchup with Coalfield could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Tuesday. The Bobcats lost 17-11 to the Yellow Jackets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellow Jackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-3 back in March.
Hannah McKinney was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with two RBI. Kennedy Weber was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
Oliver Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Coalfield, they pushed their record up to 12-2-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Coming up, Oliver Springs will challenge Wartburg Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Coalfield, they will square off against Jellico at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
