Football Recap: West Skates Past West Jordan with Ease

While West put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for West Jordan. The Panthers breezed past the Jaguars to the tune of 63-0. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Kamden Lopati continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 349 yards and six touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also rushing for 60 yards and one TD on only eight carries. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 26 passing touchdowns on the season. Another player making a difference was Mani Tu'Uao, who picked up 102 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

West didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited West Jordan to a completion percentage of just 21.4%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Jaxon Toala and Justice Reed, who each logged two passes deflected. West has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.64 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.64 in their last three games.

West's defense didn't let Ayden Dunn, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Aisa Lopati was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

The victory was the fifth in a row for West, bringing their record up to 7-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points over those games. As for West Jordan, they moved to 5-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,047 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, West Jordan will take on rival Kearns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
