Stuart posted their closest victory since October 25, 2024 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Broncos, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Paityn Sheffield paced Stuart's offense, picking up ten kills. Sheffield got some help from Kyra Tubbs and her 14 assists. Finally, Sheffield was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Despite the loss, Niobrara/Verdigre still got an impressive performance from Alayna Clark, who had 11 digs and two assists.

Stuart's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Niobrara/Verdigre, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Stuart didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] on the 9th. As for Niobrara/Verdigre, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against St. Mary's at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
