Softball Recap: Northwest Indians vs. Tuslaw Mustangs

Northwest extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-9 in the process. They lost 8-2 to the Tuslaw Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in April.

McCune has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hailey Carano, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eiley Bolgiano, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Coming up, Northwest will challenge Barberton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tuslaw, they will take on Triway at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season.
