Baseball Recap: Clinton Central Comes Up Short

If Clinton Central was feeling good fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Tri-Central on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Sheridan Blackhawks by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blackhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Clinton Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Creed Mennen, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Mennen is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Clinton Central's record is now 6-5. As for Sheridan, they moved to 3-9 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Coming up, Clinton Central will square off against Lewis Cass at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sheridan, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 8-5 win against Elwood on the 3rd.
