Basketball Recap: Providence Academy Triumphs

University School came into Saturday's match looking for another win against Providence Academy, but Kinley Painter wouldn't allow it. Providence Academy blew past the University School Buccaneers, posting a 60-32 win thanks in part to Painter, who went 10 of 19 on her way to 25 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Providence Academy's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Johnson, who posted five points along with six boards and three steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in January.

Providence Academy now has a winning record of 7-6. As for University School, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Providence Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Berean Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Providence Academy is facing Berean Christian at the right time seeing as Berean Christian is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for University School, they will venture away from home to face off against Monroe County at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
